BEFORE MEETS IMPACT: Water for All (People, Wildlife and Livestock )
In our #BeforeMeetsImpact series, we shine the light on the 6-million-litre solar-powered water pan in Gutale, Bora'ane, Garissa County, which is turning our vision of Water for All into a reality.
Severe water scarcity is one of the biggest causes of Human-Wildlife Conflict. Putting people, livestock, and wildlife in Kenya at risk. Unpredictable dry spells and prolonged droughts fueled by climate change are making it worse.
But there's hope!
WWF-Kenya is working with communities to make "Water for All” a reality. This means providing life-saving water for people, their livestock, and Kenya's magnificent wildlife.
Thank you! Your generous donations helped construct a 6-million-litre solar-powered water pan in Gutale, Bora'ane, Garissa County. It provides vital water during the dry season.
Be a part of the #BeforeMeetsImpact movement. Together, let's create a lasting impact

Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
The Man!
A genus man from home 💪💪 and because of his invention we don't always depend on kplc but we have his power supply which is more efficient than kplc blackout faulty 😂😂😂😂 I love this man
I want to say that I saw him give a tedtalk over YT, and then I came to the part where he started making power from bicycle wheels with generating parts attached and I knew it was him! Glad to see him be able to live out his vision of helping power his people's lives too 😊
John story is an example of how innovation and dedication can create sustainable solutions for energy challenges. His ability to transform simple materials into a community-changing project is an inspiration to us, demonstrating that great achievements often start with small, resourceful steps. 🔧
Likes for the dyslexic people❤
God is Good
Already at my first visit to Kenya, I knew that Kenya is different. There is so much raw talent and industriousness. And good people, too!
where permit?
So far behind. Doesn't make sense
Compare and contrast to a young Irish lad who took a 4 inch pipe of water from a river to power a turbine. The authorities got a digger in, destroyed the pipe, turbine and small impound pool made by moving a few large rocks leaving a pile of rubbish (the materials alone probably cost about 200-500 euro) and told the local farmer to clear it up!! Kenya he's a hero, Ireland and most of Europe, get your ass kicked for being a naughty boy! The river in question, back in the 1830's had a dozen water powered mills on it, all gone today. Such a great resource ignored for giant wind turbine monstrosities plaguing our skylines, that don't even supply basic demand and cost a fortune via our energy bills.
That's a cool setup.
People are still confusing energy with electricity or electric grid Energy we use mostly is mechanical rotational (washing machine, heat exchangers, fridge compressor, workshop tools, kitchen mixer, grain mills, etc) that can be powered directly by a shaft of vawt wind turbine or water turbine as this case The other energy we use is thermal for cooking, glass or metal melting, clay curing furnace, etc and that can be obtained by simple big solar water lenses or aluminum mirror concentrated solar Electricity is only needed for citcuits
Why did it have to be a white investor getting a piece of the profits again. Couldn t it have been just a good story about a dude in africa solving the eletric problem for his people.
Something like this will never be allowed in many countries it would interfere with the earnings of the Local Electricity Supply Commissions. There's similar project in Malawi but not as organized, I'm so happy for these boys.Make cash and bring light to all those African countries that are still in the dark
meeeen my god,,,,the whole 4.44 minutes are so humbling,,, it is possible✊✊✊✊ mashallah
Brilliant mind
These are the heroes of kenya.not the thieves in government
I thought kplc doesnt allow anyone to supply power
why some video dont have view play and sound? does content creators can set it in the settings??? you want me click your video right???😂😂😂😂
Ìs he trying to speak English or what language is that?? He better speak his local language and hand someone translate
Excellent work and good performance am proud of you. This is what I call innovation without kusema tafhadali mweshimiwa nataka appointment with you? May Almighty God bless Kenya with people of this type. How can keep in contact with you Sir?
Brilliant idea keep it up bro
For those who keep on saying innovators get killed or sijui nini in this land. Huyu ameishi! Msiogope.
All the young man
與事實不符,水質富營養化水葫蘆才瘋漲。這和水質污染有關。
The mother is really happy
Great work comrade,, we are capable of doing more and more only that we don't have support, some government rules kills talents,, I have all that it needs, but all I have done is almost nothing and what I see probably I will end up just like thaaaat.... So disappointed 😞
Research and Development sectors/industry is purposely and heavily underfunded, welcome to no vision 2030.
My village mate... we are proud of you Magiro
How cool is that!
Where is the project located...we would like to visit and learn
This is what's required in Kenya. Innovation and providing solutions to community needs. This the guys who should be rich in Kenya. They have a product to sell and make money but not the crooks in government that only steal tax payers resources to enrich themselves. Some have never worked in life yet are millionaires .
No man is limited
Amazing! Inspiring!
Impressive
If a mechanic can dismantle the vehicle engine and assemble them, what does he lack not make to an engine from a scratch?
Awesome and outstanding
Quite inspiring!
Please do a follow up with how many homes are powered by a Magiro HydroBox turbine. Also, what is the cost to build each HydroBox hydropower station?
Kenya needs as many small and local power generating stations in addition to the mega ones.
Very inspiring, great minds. Projects like these should be embraced and get heavy funding. Kudos
This inspiration, encouraging, excellent, innovative and beautiful.. I'm proud of this young man.. Blessings. Keep it up 👏
Look at how the mum is proud a son who had difficulties reading and writting is now a champion. To God be the glory.
No, the glory belongs to his son.
Quit praising God for the hard work of people.
From My home region…we love you Magiro
These is the kind of education system needed
Exactly not indonctrinatiin of things that will.nevrr help you in life We hide you champion may they never see you
These are the kind of people we need onto this nation
Kazi poa mzee

An individual can do such amazing work, but when it comes to govt, it takes centuries and billions to realise the same.kudos
